A place called home

It is a good thing that both the wicked and the righteous, the filthy and the holy, the just and the corrupt, all desire beauty, peace, security, love, value, and other positive things. Most don’t give these positive feelings to those around them, but they desire to get it from those around them. This positive feeling is where the two worlds collide in a beautiful display.

Once I connected a friend of mine to a nice job. Unfortunately, the pay he expected to be given was not the one he was offered. Well, it was better to have small than to have nothing at all, so he accepted the deal. He started working with this company that expected too much from him, and offered him much less than he deserved. Soon, the man lost happiness with the company. They expected much, but his efforts were never appreciated, he was never valued, so he decided to start getting back against the company.

This young man knew that no matter what he does, he would never be appreciated, and so he decided to give his worst. He could report at the company in the morning, check out a few documents, and leaves that he’s going to the field, but he only goes home and sleeps.
One day, the director decided to entrust him with the management of the company for a month as the director was set to go abroad. This was a good opportunity for him to get what is enough from the company. When the director came back, she found the mess in the company.
Well, the truth is my friend wasn’t bad at first. Maybe he had not had opportunity to be bad yet. However, he got corrupted by the unfavorable circumstances. Evil brings evil! This is exactly what happened. As he did this, he called himself a Christian. He discipled people at the local church he used to attend. He evangelized to other people who even gave their lives to Christ, but he was already corrupted. Yes, he was defiled.

Like this friend, are many of us. We daily yearn for heaven, but in some way have long lost it. The desire for human equity has destroyed the beauty of the relationship with God. The desire for human value has taken our focus away from God. How shall we make it to heaven?

Consider the line below:

Far behind, and far ahead, I hear a cry, “There’s a home!”
The old have said it, and so have the young.
In lines of writings, and in cords of music, the home is talked about.
Where is my home?

A place where I won’t have to be careful.
A land where everyone looks for the joy of one another.
Where I won’t have to hide secrets anymore.
Where one dies for all, and all die for one.
There’s a place I call home.

A place where the lion and the lamb both eat straws.
A land where there’s no need for guns and army for security.
Where the light of love shines equally both in day, and in the dark night.
Where I cry not for need, but for joy.
There’s a place I call home.

Where do I find this place when my heart is full of hatred?
Where do I find this place when I desire to destroy others for my gain?
Selfishness and corruption has defiled me.
How do I find this home?

Dirty money in my left hand, the preacher shaking my right hand.
Smart clothes on my body, injustice in my heart.
Sweet words on my lips, blood stains in my hand.
How do I find this home?

Oh Lord, change my heart that I might find my home.
Cleanse my being that I might be fit to head home.
Take me not by surprise, lest I miss my home.
In you, I find my home.
Here in is my home!

The home is not found in earthly consolation, but in Devine structuring. Many rich men have killed poor people because of earthly consolation, but have not found the home. Scientists have destroyed lives, altered genes, and defertelized many humans, but have only found guilt, no realistic feeling of home. This is a true meaning that neither earthly wisdom, nor wealth, nor anything in created being can lead us to this home. If we truly desire the home above, we ought to:

  1. Forgive those who offended us.
  2. Seek not our own glory.
  3. Seek God’s light all the time.
  4. Restrain from earthly desires.
  5. Be not ashamed of the God we carry.
  6. Seek to please God no matter what.
  7. Trust and obey God always.
These will help you when disturbed at whatever point in life.
