Blessing

We all need blessings, but don’t always find it. We don’t always stop to rethink what went wrong, because we always think we got it right anyways.

What if we spend all our days with the dreams of being blessed, but spend every second never really blessed? What if we miss our blessings because of something we aren’t doing right, would that seem like we work for our blessings, or it would still stand that blessings are God’s favor upon our lives?

In this contemporary world, blessings are so much attached to physical blessings than to nonphysical blessings such as; joy, peace, happiness, … that realistically we need the most in our daily life. For this reason, many have forsaken the reality of seeking blessings, and have headed to a direction of seeking possessions and think in obtaining them, they’ll be blessed.

Abraham sought the blessing of a child from the Lord. When it seemed like God’s work was taking too long, he decided to find a way to his blessing (by laying with his maid). This is a common thing even in this era of living. We can only trust God but for a minute when we can’t see it, we look for a way out.

This approach to seeking God’s blessings has made many people to grow up in regrets and pain. Soon we realize that our approach to life often turn against us, fighting against that which the Lord has ordained.

When it comes to finding God’s blessings, the points below need to considered carefully.

  • “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.” Psalms 1:1

If one chooses to detach themselves from sinful ways, they become closer to their blessings. This is not obtained by being in church, there are sinners there too, it is done by transforming the mind so that though physically you may find yourself with bad people, yet you may not yoke up with them. For if you are an easy goer, though physically you are not with bad people, you still will miss the blessing.

  • “But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” Psalms 1:2

Delight in the Lord may seem easy, but is the most important thing a living soul can do. It is what helps one to truly trust in Him, and meditate upon His word. It helps one to love the Lord without holding a reservation.

  • “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Psalms 1:3

If you don’t do the two steps above, your efforts may seem futile sooner than you can expect. You won’t produce the fruit at the right time because sometimes seasons change. But if you are concrete in the two above, you will rise while others are sinking.
