He watches

One thing a thief and a robber wouldn’t want to be known for is stealing and robbing. This means the time they choose for their activity must support their actions. If the time can not be supportive, a disguise has to be created; change the looks. They will have to put on face masks so their faces won’t be recognized and on gloves so their finger prints won’t be read.

This same habit has been adopted by the people we look to daily. The religious leaders dress on masks of positions and titles to cover their evil deeds. The government officials dress on their powers to do evil on their subjects. This makes it so difficult for people to understand who they truly are. This continues until they get tired.

However, as much as this mask helps them hide their identity, there are probably three people they won’t hide their identity or actions from. They won’t hide from themselves because they see everything they do in the dark. They won’t hide themselves from the devil who persuades them into doing such things. Thirdly, they won’t hide from God whose eye searches everywhere, including the heart of man.

Because these three are seeing, soon the guilt starts to consume you and you drown in the affliction by your conscience. The devil that lured you into the wrong actions start laughing at you, making your devastation to become even worse. You can’t even enjoy the fruit of the corrupt actions anymore. Your enemies increase more and more. Trusting even your own family becomes an issue, so you choose to turn your back on the ones you once loved so dearly.

The bad thing is that at this point, it becomes easier to strengthen the Mask than to remove it. The foolishness that has swallowed up the wisdom hinders you from realizing your problems will keep multiplying until you take off the Mask from you. You keep trying to improve the quality of the Mask until you struggle to trust yourself.

Nonetheless, one person of the three people who always sees you do these things, keeps asking you to take His hand that you may change and find peace. The problem for many people is that their masks have blocked them from hearing the voice of help. It has blinded them instead of protecting them. They can’t see the one calling them anymore. The words of, “let me help you”, might be relieving if one can hear. A good sign can bring hope if one can see. But where can one whose ears are blocked and eyes closed find help?

Stolen bread may be sweet, and wine taken in secret my comfort, but the end is destruction.

You don’t want it to reach this point. Swallow the pride and take off the Mask that you may know the way of life when you are still able to. Don’t wait until all you can say is “I wish I knew”. Save yourself by doing the right thing. Avoid the fake smiles with hatred hiding behind. Avoid the fake charity with pride hidden behind. Avoid the fake sermons with corruption hidden behind.

If you need to hide with it, it is just not worth having, let it go. If it will endanger others, don’t do it. If you struggle believing you did it, please it’s not worth doing it.

There is a reason you have people around you. If you can’t take off the Mask by yourself, ask someone to help you take it off. You will find peace without those masks than by having it. It is wise to lose what you shouldn’t keep in order to get what you shouldn’t lose.
