Wrong place, or wrong people?

In 1493, an Italian polymath of the Renaissance, Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci, commonly known as Leonardo da Vinci, became the man who broke the world of science by introducing “Friction” as something worth learning. Since then, science talked a lot about friction. From its foundation, they agreed that any force that opposes relative motion be called friction.

Today, friction has manifested in many forms and fields, including psychology, known as politics. It has opposed relative progress economically, socially, spiritually, even mentally. The power of right and wrong is no more in the logical or intellectual analytical thoughts, but in the “who agrees with it?”.

The third world government can’t stay in power for long, unless they make alliance with the developed countries. A president in a third world country has to make alliance with the developed countries that can guarantee supply of military equipment and protections, aimed at his own people. The third worlds will have to offer in exchange whatever they have, ranging from oil and gas, to minerals, and to agricultural products. This means, the third worlds can only go as far as the developed countries can allow them.

Religiously, sin and holiness is no longer determined by what God says anymore. Sin and holiness is determined by what the donors and partners want. The religious leaders are more afraid of losing tithe and offertory than of leading the people of God to hell. No wonder in the past God could select the people to serve, but today people select themselves and present themselves for God to approve. How far can a blind guide lead another blind?

One of the biggest dangers of Friction is heat. This is why most leaders actually those in the third world countries, either die in exile, or are overthrown and they die, or if they can’t take the pressure, they surrender and live at the mercy of the successor. this happens when the heat in the position can not be contained anymore. For religious leaders, they blame the devil whenever things turn hot.

In homes and families however, children are the ones who mostly suffer. Parents break up the relationship and the children will most likely be raised by a single parent, and if worse, they become orphans while their parents are still alive. in cases where there are no breakups, children grow with deluded mindset as they keep seeing their parents fight all the time.

People standing as leaders, lead to the death of the subjects. They kill the subjects emotionally, spiritually, socially, economically, psychologically, and sometimes, physically.

With more than 98% of the world claiming belief in a god, why is it so difficult for the world to see justice? Is there any religion on earth that supports injustice? Why should the religious leaders keep standing before people if they can’t talk about injustices, yet want to talk about morals? Why should a government official come to his people with a gun, and go to another land (some of which are enemies) with a handshake? In schools, they can’t teach what is right anymore, rather what the community accepts.

Having said all these, there is no wisdom in flogging a dead lion, we need to suggest some solutions that can save the system socially, psychologically, spiritually, and likely economically.

Even though friction can be as dangerous as causing heat, there is a way to reduce it, lubrication. If applied in the right time, it can save a lot. Obviously, we can’t apply it after the heat has turned into fire. Even common sense can say it.

Friction brought by Politics can be reduced by love. The more we love each other, the more we learn their value, and the more we stand to protect them.

Let’s accept that unity isn’t uniformity. We might have different colors, different intellectual abilities, different geographical boundaries, and so on, and so forth, but we are all humans. We need to stand for what is right for all. Politicians have to learn that money didn’t tick the ballot, but a human did, why treat them as useless beings? Religious leaders need to learn to stand for what God has set them to do, and not use the pulpit as a market place for making some extra cash.

Let’s accept that enough is enough. It is time to talk when our friends are being used as slaves, to earn money. We need to say something when the women are being mistreated. We need to say something when the religious leaders are taking advantage of the desperate folks. We need to say something when somebody is being treated unfairly because of their skin color, their gender, their origin, financial status, their intellectualism, or their occupation. Because if we don’t say something, we are agreeing with what is going on.

And when we say something, when we do something, let’s remember to let love be the center of the reaction. If we allow our emotions to be the cause of reaction, we are no different from them. Let’s recall that whatever we do will come back to us either directly, or indirectly. God fights for the defenseless, you don’t want to fight against Him.

The time for playing games is over, let’s stand for truth, let’s stand for justice, let’s stand for love.
