Two great friends, United by fate, divided by faith got into a hot discussion, and one threw a hot phrase that he might soon regret:

‘“Yes, and every Christian will have Paul to thank when
they’re standing before God, being judged for worshiping a
man instead of Him!” The moment the words escaped my lips, I
knew I had gone too far. But it was too late, and I was too
proud to apologize.’
(‘seeking Allah, Finding Jesus’, Nabeel Qureshi. Emphasis added)

When this guy uttered this statement to his friend, he had no idea that he would hurt the feeling of his friend. Need for proving to be right to his friend covered the chance to be kind. By the time he discovered he had gone wrong, it was too late. His words couldn’t get back to him. His friend probably needed some amnesia to forget this utterance.

Many times, we are persuaded to do the same. We feel like being right is more necessary. We forget the subject of loving one another as we love ourselves. We defend by saying, we also need truth, or worse, truth always hurt. But, are you sure about that?

God is always right. But God also knows He doesn’t need proof of being right. He always makes his love to lead the way. He never forces us to accept any truth, and yet we need the truth– His Truth.

Have we therefore become more right than God? Are we totally convinced that the way we are choosing is the way of love? As it is written, “they will know you are my disciple if you love one another”.

As it is said, “comprehension is more important than communication”, are you sure the message you are sending isn’t going to be comprehended otherwise?

Sometimes, it is right to be kind than to be right. We can choose to be right in action than in words if we realise our “right words” might just cause great danger.

Love is kind, but also Right. Choose love to be right while kind.
