A listening ear, A talking mouth!

Six months after graduating, God helped me to get a job. It was not in my field of expertise though. After all, all what I needed was money and this job was paying me money. I never knew that I was chasing the wind.

A few months later, my boss started expecting more than I had ever done. I tried to live to her expectations, making sacrifices to ensure that I made her happy, but all in vain. I needed to be true that I didn’t know, but that would endanger my job. I was left with another choice, to keep pretending.

Like me, many people try to figure out what they don’t know even when they know where to find out the truth. This often leads to more mistakes than anyone can forecast.

Unfortunately, we so often do the same to the Almighty. We rush to Him with our sacrifices and services, yet ignorant of what the Almighty expects of us at that moment. For this reason, we err more than we make amends with God.

The Almighty has never treasured the sacrifices of man more than He treasures obedience. But how shall we obey when we can not hear? How shall we hear when we are too busy talking? What then is our fate if we don’t listen?

Desire to serve. Desire to sacrifice. But desire more to listen from the Almighty.
