Light Which is Darkness

Let’s borrow the early man’s definition of darkness; that which nothing is known about. 

If the light that God made for man was the truth as it pertains to walking in this world, then any theory to guide the walk in this world apart from that which God has put forward is a light which is darkness. The danger though is that it is very difficult for one having a wrong theory as truth pertaining to reality to see the real truth as pertains to reality. This is the reason the Pharisees, the enlightened men of the day orchestrated the killing of Jesus. They never realized that they were doing what was wrong.

Jesus said, “if the light in you is darkness, how deep is the darkness!”

It’d be preferable to have no reality, than to uphold a wrong view as a reality of life. Mathematically, such a life is running in negatives. Now, to restore it to the right direction, it should first be set to zero, which is brightening a dark day. Then from zero, to the positive direction. 

In Romans 10, the writer talks about the charisma, the energy, and enthusiasm that the Roman church had. The problem though was that it had a darkness as the light. They went on forfeiting the true path of God, and started establishing their own righteousness. Whatever they felt was right, they upheld it irrespective of what God said. Yes, they had passion for God. But if the passion is wrongly executed, can it be accepted? Be careful that the light in you is not darkness.
